Gmail users play an important role in keeping spammy messages out of millions of inboxes. When the Gmail community votes with their clicks to report a particular email as spam, our system quickly learns to start blocking similar messages. The more spam the community marks, the smarter our system becomes.

I'm one of the guys that runs reddit.
What is happening is that our auto spam filter is marking it as spam. Since we get a lot of spam, we try to help you out.
The spam filter is Bayesian, so it learns from your actions. By either approving the link or confirming the ban, you are training the filter. Over time it will get better and you'll have to do ...

You can set up a filter so that no message is sent to the spam folder:
Settings → Filters → Create a new filter
From: *
Create filter with this search
check Never send it to Spam
From there, you can set up your email forwarding.

(See below why MBraedley's solution doesn't work):
This method is kind of a hack but it works. I'm happy about any suggestions how to do this otherwise.
Create a filter with:
Doesn't have: SOME RANDOM CHARACTERS YOU'LL PROBABLY NEVER RECEIVE
Create filter with this search »
Check:
✔ Forward it to: YOUR EMAIL
✔ Never send it to Spam
✔ Delete it ...

If you go to the profile of the account sending the tweets there's a drop down (the gear). The bottom option of that is to report the account for spam.
Having reported the account you can then block that account so you'll no longer see the spam posts.

First, remove permissions from all the applications under Account Settings -> Applications.
If you haven't changed your password, do it now. Also change the password to any email accounts associated with your Facebook account.
Start with a clean slate here and see how that goes.

What I ended up doing, which worked really well, was creating an email with some text in the body:
This is a test of the email system.
This is not a real spam message, but
rather one that is trying to purposely
get into the spam folder of another
account. This is so that I can ensure
that my Gmail filters are setup
correctly.

Generally, I wouldn't trust it unless it comes from a service you use.
For example, I might signup for service X and not notice the checkbox to opt-out of email marketing. If they start sending me email I would expect there to be an unsubscribe link, since it's required by law. I would expect them to follow the law since I wouldn't create an account on a ...

If you hover over the link with your cursor, it should show you where the link actually directs to. Chances are it's some malware-infested site or phishing scam.
A lot of antivirus programs can monitor that kind of thing in real-time and stop your computer from doing anything stupid just before it's too late, but I wouldn't rely on that. If you have even ...

Hi, first of all I'd like to share my methodology:
The first step was to find out how these tweets were being posted (e.g. using a Twitter client such as TweetDeck, a third-party service such as Facebook, or directly from the Twitter website). Until recently, this could be done from Twitter itself, but they've recently removed this information from the ...

Have you tried the following?
Choose Sent from the Inbox menu in the top navigation bar.
Choose the Sent Invitations tab
Open any of the pending "Invitation to connect on LinkedIn" messages you've sent to your friends.
Click Withdraw (the button below the invitation, next to "Resend")
I'm not sure about it, but the "withdraw" option does seem ...

Something to keep in mind is that there is a constant battle between the spam-filters and the spammers. Spam-filters are always upgrading themselves based on stuff behind the scenes as well as what it reported as spam by all their users. Spammers on the other hand are constantly updating their code to get around the constantly updated filters. Like any ...

Clearly this is a false positive of the spam detection algorithm. Nothing to fret. Just approve it manually.
Reddit developers don't share the internals of the spam detection algorithm to prevent abuse.
Hopefully with a couple of manual approvals of the user's stories, the spam detection should get better.

Crowdsourcing
Wikipedia has many editors, each editor is usually subscribed to change notifications of the article they created/edited during their Wikipedia activity life span. When you make an edit, one of the editors reviews it and if it's spam he will revert the change to the article previous state.
Wikipedia relies on people to filter out the spam, ...

It's a common problem, the email addresses are forged (this is easy to do with Internet email) usually the senders of spam choose random "from" addresses constructed from their list of target addresses. The flood should subside after a few days (or weeks).
There is nothing really practical you can do to stop the spammers using your domain name in their ...

Short answer: You cannot send more than 500 emails in a day from a single Gmail account.
Google will temporarily disable your account if you send messages to more than 500 recipients or if you send a large number of undeliverable messages.
If you access Gmail via POP or IMAP clients (like Microsoft Outlook), you can send an email message to a maximum of ...

While the list of criteria used by GMail's spam filter is a trade secret, most spam filters are quite similar.
The list of spam criteria used by a very popular Spam Assassin spam filter is made public, together with weights.
Some of the most important ones, cherry-picked by me:
Character set indicates a foreign language
Body contains a ROT13-encoded ...

Most likely your e-mail address was caught up by a spammer which isn't taken up in Google's spam list. Just click on the Mark as spam box, so Gmail knows about it. This should stop the spam after a few days.
And remember: Never allow the mails to load images and don't click on any link (and not unsubscribe) nor answer. This shows the spammer that your ...

I would reply to the banks, and tell them that they are emailing the wrong person, after all, you are probably receiving confidential information, which could result in legal problems...Email their support department, and/or visit them in person, and make sure you go high enough on the management, so that they will take you more seriously and correct the ...

A lot of spammers send spam with the sender marked as your own address, trying to fool the spam filters this way. Spam filters work in various ways, trying to classify emails depending on various criteria. The email you sent seemed somehow suspicious to the filter, so it marked it as spam.
You can try to change this behaviour by telling the filter that the ...

I get these "Daily Deals" mails too; I think eBay mails them to any active eBay users.
Ebay's privacy policy is here as "Privacy Central"

(The privacy policy links to My eBay > My Account > Preferences > Notification Preferences but I don't see anything relevant there, mostly that's buying and ...

I would let one account handle the spam filtering for all of your accounts. I don't believe there's much benefit for having each account handle its own spam. I think Gmail is aware of the destination address of each incoming mail and having identical spam emails (with only the destination address changing) will strengthen the spam algo just as much as if it ...

They can't DM you if you don't follow back.
You can block them if you want to, or you can use one of the many 3rd party services around to do so.
It doesn't really have any effect. It's basically just a number. You'll probably find a lot of them disappear naturally from time to time when Twitter purges spam accounts or they unfollow you because you're not ...

Jeff Atwood had a really good post on things to do to help your email get through. This made a huge difference for the company I work for. Some highlights:
Make sure the computer sending the email has a Reverse PTR record.
Configure DomainKeys Identified Mail in your DNS and code.
Set up a SenderID record in your DNS.

Doesn't seem like you can ignore tags at this point in time. If it was possible, it could also be linked to not have a certain tag show up when viewing combinations of tags:
Is there a way to use "not" in tag combinations? What about "or"?
There's no way to use "not" yet; we'd like to do this in the future, but it's impractical for the time being. ...

The first thing you should do is change the password on your account.
The second thing you should do is run a check on your PC to see if there are any viruses or trojans installed. Once you've done that and cleaned your PC you should be in a better position.
It could be that someone is just forging (or spoofing) the e-mails using your address as the sender ...

just browse the spam and check.. you'll get the hang of it pretty fast.. normal emails usually don't have many numbers and strange characters like % or UPPER CASE PRIZES etc. in the message preview.. so you can actually browse very quickly..
what I guess you're looking for is an automated way to do this - which would actually be a spam filter - filtering ...

Can you use IMAP rather than POP for your client access? If you can then you will be able to view all of your Gmail folders in your client of choice, including the spam folder and move emails between them. As far as I am aware though you will not be able to tell Gmail that this mail is not spam for future use.

You can report to Google Safe Browsing - Malware / Phishing or use an addon like Web of Trust.
Chrome & Firefox make use of Google Safe Browsing API, so reporting a fraudulent site to Safe Browsing will result in Chrome or Firefox displaying a message about an unsafe site.
Web of Trust(WOT) works in almost the same way.

If the links you are being asked to follow take you to a url different then the normal paypal.com I would be warned that it is most likely fake.
In this case what I do anyway just to be safe is I type directly into my url bar the address name, in this case www.paypal.com. You can log in and it should notify you if there are any payments that need to be ...
