Add a checklist (as little as a single item: "done"), then mark the card as done in the checklist. The card will visually display in green a checkmark for the checklist.

I think it would be a great addition if the card itself had a "completed" check box similar to the check list items. At the moment, my workaround is to create a check list per card and add at least one item. It would be much quicker to simply set the card itself to "completed". I wrote this bot, https://trello.com/refbot, that you can add to your board and, from now on (it does not work with links created in the past), every time a card links to other cards, a link (as a comment) will be added back to the linked card, so you can get a quick overview of who is referencing who. You can find cards without labels buy using the - operator. For example, if you have a label called red and a label called blue and you want to see all cards without a label, try this: -label:red -label:blue The result will be any card that does not have the red or blue label. Of course you will have to list all of your labels for this to work.
