I have been writing software since 1979 on Commodore PETs, Apples and ATARI. Moved up to Vic-20s, C-64 and Apple IIes. Then to C-128, AMIGA, IBM PC and early non-color Macs.
I got my BS and MS in Computer Science from Montclair State University on VAX/VMS and SunOS/Solaris. I was fortunate to see the start of the web and early text browsers to Mosaic.
I programmed in Logo, Basic, Pascal, Fortran, C, C++ and then Java in school and professionally.
Started doing database work with Ingres, then Oracle (since v5). Followed by SQL Server, Sybase, Postgresql, MySQL and a bunch of NoSQL. Memcache is really helpful!
Java, Android, Spring, Hibernate/JPA, Mobile/HTML5, Node.js and Vert.x are my current technologies and interests.
I also skate roller derby and do some open source coding at home.
I am a Senior Field Engineer with Pivotal.
