@EightDaysofMalaise if you'd rather see more involved nominees, you might consider nominating yourself.

comment Is there a way to make phone calls from Gmail when the new hangouts is enabled?
@Sathya does this require re-installing the plugin or is it an instant change when you log in?

comment Using Adium (or iChat) with a GChat account that uses Single Sign-on (SSO)
Excellent question! This would be more suitable for our sister site Web Applications, so I'm going to migrate it there for you. My employer is about to move to Google Apps too, so I'm curious to see if there's a way to do this!

Is there anything wrong with just saving the files?

comment How can I get the password of an openID associated site?
More specifically, there is no password for the account. You have to log in with the Google account.

comment Add many locations to Google Map?
I don't have time to write a full answer right now, but you should be able to import KML files into Google Maps. A KML file is basically a plain text list of lat/long coordinates wrapped up in some XML. There should be plenty of documentation of the specs online. If you need to go from addresses, not so sure...

comment Is there a way to disable Facebook's email address?
That doesn't really disable it, it just hides it. Useful info on how to hide it, but if people get your facebook address, they can still send emails to it even if you hide it on your profile.

comment Single mandatory question with multiple “I accept condition X” (checkboxes?) in a Google Docs Form?
While that's a noble intention, I assure you that the reality will be much more along the lines of "shoot, I missed a couple boxes? check, check, check, OK! on my way now..."

comment Single mandatory question with multiple “I accept condition X” (checkboxes?) in a Google Docs Form?
Is there a particular reason why you can't just have all of the conditions listed, and have them check a single box? My school's wireless authentication page has 2 checkboxes, and I'd say at least 9/10 people only check the first one, then ask "why'd the page show up again?"

comment When does Dropbox delta?
I believe that Dropbox actually uses rsync internally. I can't find a good reference for that off-hand right now, but if I do, I'll expand this into a full answer. It definitely does use some sort of differencing algorithm.

If you update your answer @phwd to include that info, I'll mark it as accepted. If you'd rather, I can post a separate self-answer with screenshots. Up to you!

comment Is there a way to disable Facebook's email address?
Hmm. From looking at the 2nd link, it appears that it's set such that even with my email address, anybody who isn't Facebook friends with me wouldn't be able to send a message via email. I tried sending an email from an account not associated with my FB account, and it didn't show up in Other. I then got an email back from FB saying "Based on the email preferences of the person you're trying to email, this message could not be delivered."

Bummer. I'm inclined to believe you, but do you happen to have any reputable sources for this, e.g. Facebook documentation and the like?

comment How can I verify my PayPal account without giving them direct access to my bank account?
I finally got this to work after adding a temporary address (I'm living away from "home" at college right now) to my credit card. It was a bit of a pain, but finally worked.

Ugh, blackboard. Excellent question; I've tried to do the same before and found that getting stuff out of blackboard is downright agonizing.

When I did this, I typed in Due 9/28/2011. The card now has a date indicator for the 27th. What?

comment How to configure Gmail so that filtered user gets an NDR (non-deliverable receipt) or “bounce” message
Wouldn't you rather just silently drop their emails? Telling them they've been blocked will just confirm that you know they exist and that they're getting through to you, which may just lead to more crap from them. It might be better to just delete the messages, and move on.

comment In web URLs including Facebook, I see the string /#! appearing. What is the purpose of it?
"Here, here, and here" doesn't tell us much of anything useful. Could you edit your answer to include at least a summary of what each of those talks about and how it's relevant?
