comment In web URLs including Facebook, I see the string /#! appearing. What is the purpose of it?
"Here, here, and here" doesn't tell us much of anything useful. Could you edit your answer to include at least a summary of what each of those talks about and how it's relevant?

comment What is Jabber, and how is it related to Facebook chat?
incorrect. gTalk uses it, and can interface with AIM, but AIM does not use it. Yahoo Messenger, MSN/Windows Live, and ICQ are all their own protocols, and do not currently and likely will not support XMPP.

Will this work for actually opening the KML in Google Maps - not downloading it to view in Google Earth?

Fantastic, thank you!! I kept trying to figure this out, and couldn't. I will assign a bounty to this question and award it to you.

comment Crawl someone's status updates on Facebook?
Facebook has an official API for retrieving user data. Any other scraping would be considered a violation of their terms of use. See developers.facebook.com for more info.

Aren't tasks part of Google Calendar? Perhaps I'm thinking of the wrong thing...

comment Can I customize my Facebook layout?
The way it got out of hand on MySpace is exactly why they don't allow it on Facebook. Uniform design is better for visitors.

comment Extract email adresses of Gmail
Your question is unclear. Do you mean extract the addresses from each incoming email and save them somewhere, or extract all the addresses you've ever sent or received anything from ever?

As I have yet to find any better solution and it appears to be simple not possible, I'm marking this answer as accepted for now.

comment How to make subscribe landing page for blog?
Do you mean a landing page as in everyone who visits your blog sees that page before they see your blog? I feel like that will probably not make visitors very happy, and will likely drive them away from your blog.

No problem. If you do eventually find a better solution, please update your post; I'd be interested to hear about it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I already have access to desktop software which can plot graphs like these. What I am looking for is something specifically web based.

I suppose we could do it that way, but it would be nice if there were an automated method. I know Google Docs has basic scripts of some sort now, though I don't know much of anything about them, so perhaps it could be implemented somehow through those.

+1 for dropbox. If you can talk your family member through installing DropBox (it's dead easy), then you can send them a shared folder with your pictures, and they can view it on their computer.

comment How can I help my videos appear higher in YouTube search results?
@Alex, depending on which definition of "sanction" you use, I'd argue that google not sanctioning these actions is good. I.e., google does not sanction (approve) this, but they don't impose sanctions (punishments) for it. I agree that it's weird they don't punish it, I think it's good that they don't encourage it. ;)

comment Password protect Google Spreadsheet
Ah. Unfortunately, there isn't any way to control access unless you either make it open to everybody or else they sign up for a google account. One doesn't need a gmail account specifically though; you can sign up for a google account with your existing email.

Nobody's trying to be unfriendly, it's just that your question is off-topic for SuperUser and is better suited for Webapps Stack Exchange. Your question hasn't been completely closed, it was just closed on SuperUser and migrated to webapps.

Happy to be of help. There is also a function called importrange which can import a whole section of one sheet into another one. Using that, you could import the entire first sheet's data into the second sheet, and then display all the equations on there near the data they correspond to. Google has documentation for it, which you may find useful. It still wouldn't be a perfect solution, but would be closer since it would display all the results on one page with the original data at least.
