Cool. I got around it by creating a throwaway account and pre-authorizing the real account. Then I can give out the password to the throwaway account and it doesn't matter if it's hacked (except for possible spam).

I tried to set up HootSuite but I messed up and signed in with Twitter (or rather they messed up) and now am unable to log in because both accounts say they are managed by another account! What a mess! I tried to create a new account, but THEN I wasn't even able to change my email to my company because it said there was already an account for it, which I can't get into!!! I even tried reset password but it would not send an email! It was a frustrating steaming pile of mess. I set this up with TweetDeck though and now I'm able to see the account I want to control, so I can give out the buffer.

I can't afford full-time employees or lawyers just for Twitter. I'm thinking about hourly freelance via ODesk. Basically random strangers. How do people deal with this? I looked at TweetDeck, but they still require the password to link to another account - I would still have to give out password.

This answer doesn't make any sense. When you add a new account, it specifically asks you for the username & password to sign into Twitter. How can you give that info out to allow people to add the company account? Once you give out the password, someone could just go directly to Twitter and change the password. Imgur

Wow that is odd. So the CEOs of companies are creating Facebook pages?

A Facebook page for the company web site.

That doesn't make any sense, because I DO own that email, and of course it is for a business. WalMart has a Facebook page, why can't my business? When you first sign up for Facebook, it asks for your First Name, Last Name, gender, age, etc. There IS no option for a company!
