I'm a technologist, entrepreneur and developer.

I operate Traveling Tech Guy - a software consulting company. I specialize in web and mobile development, as well as integration projects, and managing software development projects of various sizes and complexities. I'm always looking for the next development challenge.

In my most recent projects I've been using NodeJS, Express, and various JavaScript frameworks. Prior to that, I developed in PHP, and several years of .Net in the enterprise. My mobile experience includes iOS, Android and WP.

I've been an avid Stack Overflow user almost from day 1. I'm thankful to the community for helping me out of sticky code situations, and hope that I can contribute back, by answering as many questions as I can - on Stack Overflow, Web Applications, Super User, and Android Enthusiasts.

comment Can Cognito Forms be used to create a custom form without storing data in the cloud?
Do you mean a form that will just send an email, without storing the information anywhere? Yes, it's possible.

comment How do you prevent Gmail from locking you out of your account when travelling?
Consider using 2 step authentication. That way, if Google does not recognize the computer, or IP the account is accessed from, you still have a chance to confirm it's you by providing the second step.

comment “You've reached the bandwidth limit for viewing or downloading files that aren't in Google Docs format. Please try again later.”
The language suggests it applies to the viewer/downloader (you). Most people who comment on this particular error message recommend logging out of your Google account, and trying again.

Are you sure the emails are really coming from YouTube and are not just phishing spam mail? Try looking at the header of one or two, see if there's a different origin.

comment Gmail Delay Send
There can be only 2 explanations: 1. it was a delayed email; 2. Someone else took control of your friend's account and is now conning you. I'd be very careful on how you proceed. At any rate, if there's any call to action (especially financial) in that email, I'd take it with a grain of salt.

comment Yahoo did some upgrades and the new system basically doesn't work in Firefox
@Celeritas just got the notification. At any rate, since I copied the link from your log, it seems obvious something on your end is blocking that script. Another direction may be a mistaken identity: Yahoo thinks you're in a different country, zone, etc. Clearing all your cookies should work then. Another thing to do is: go to web console > networking tab > refresh the site - see if anything is blocked or missing (404).

comment Run Recipe on existing RSS entries
Check your RSS feed (paste it in the address bar of a browser) - it could be that it only aggregates the latest n items. If so, try to find a feed URL that contains all the items, or has a modifier parameter.

@Celeritas Look at the console output, specifically the line"yui: NOT loaded: custom-event" [13:05:15.203] "yui: NOT loaded: l10n" [13:05:15.272] "Error loading rapid-3.4.5.js: Failed to load http://l.yimg.com/ss/rapid-3.6.js" - that file is blocked by something in your browser or network. Try pasting the URL http://l.yimg.com/ss/rapid-3.6.js into the address bar and see if it loads.

Could you look at the JS console and see if an error appears when you click that button? That would usually suggest that one of your plugins blocks a .js file.
