Software engineer for a biiiig company. Been working for over a year now and been all over the place here: some embedded software, worked on a Windows MFC app, some LSL in Second Life, and am now doing web development using Python and Django w/ occasional RoR coding.

Google Opens New Windows @Dez, but I believe they still open in a new tab, which is also one of the issues the op stated. |

How to search Google Contacts directly from Launchy (or as a browser custom search engine)? I'm not sure you can do that thru Launchy unless Launchy can provide a way to authenticate you. Have you been able to use that example URL anywhere but in your browser? |

Are there any good web-based feed readers (besides Google Reader)? If you have that many unread items, do you really think you'll get to them...? That sounds like a compounding problem. If you see articles you think you'll actually get to, you should Star them or tag them in Google Reader. |

Why do people keep using the old RT? +1 for the philosophical answer. I agree. |

Why do people keep using the old RT? Random factoid: the Twitter API also returns the list of retweets as "RT <rest of msg>" when client apps make a call to get them, even when the RT was made using the new RT method. |

How can I see a discussion with both sides in Twitter? Twitter has been rolling out the new version for the past two weeks, so if you don't have it yet when you go to twitter.com, it's coming. |

How to update the feed check frequency with Google Reader? You can also force a refresh of all your feeds by just clicking on the 'Subscriptions' header in the left hand navigation. You should see a loading image and it say "refreshing..." to the right of the header. |
