comment Attach a vCard of a Google contact in an email
Thanks - shall do, though I'm on a Nexus 6. But already there I found the complementary problem, reported as an issue that at first glance seems to be ignored: by default Android won't import vcf files from an sms: code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2412

I can't find a way to do this in Android contacts, version 6.0. It says it can do it (go to contact, select "share" from menu, send an email), but no contact info is actually added or attached to the email. WTF?

comment How can Google Docs and markdown play nice?
This will work for a team of collaborators that agrees to install this client software, but other approaches described here work better for the case where you want a more seamless experience, e.g. to share with people who won't want to install more software.

And that is what mangini/gdocs2md is - a script. See the answer by trepdatious.

It is inappropriate to just link to your own page about your own software. That is indistinguishable from spam. Please describe your approach, how it is implemented, and whether it has any advantages over the other approaches described here.

comment Is there a way to filter out retweets?
That didn't work for me. I found the gear icon on their profile, and turned off retweets, but I still see retweets, even after refreshing the user's profile page. It's maddening that I can't just focus on their occasional actual tweets.

This google feature still requires that you enter your actual password, and still allows 2-step login via SMS to a cell phone, so it doesn't address the original question - if they keylog your password and steal your phone and can receive SMS on it, you're still hosed. It does allow you to use 2-Step Verification without a working cellphone, via one-time passwords, though.
