I'm passionate about coding and researching the history of technology as well as exploring where technology is leading.

I used to work in flight simulation doing both hardware implementation (electrical design, wiring), web development (design, development, webmaster), as well as software development (desktop development in C#).

I'm a big fan of both using and contributing to Open source projects.

I am the creator of the pypreprocessor library that can be found on PYPI as well as Google code.

comment How Can I Delete My YouTube Account?
+1 @rlb.usa It's there as I just used it a few days ago. It takes some time for Google to perpetuate updates to all of it's users accounts. Try clearing your cache to see if that makes a difference.

comment How can I refer to two different columns in a COUNTIF function?
@tic I wasn't using the boolean true (which is TRUE in Google Spreadsheets) I was referring to 'true' the string that the op used in his question. Try it, I'm pretty sure that if you test the values for C:C it will always return TRUE on a non-empty string. In the spreadsheet cells Google sticks to the Excel rules over JavaScript. Welcome to the fun world of leaky abstractions.

comment What happened to 'Edit CSS' in Google docs?
I added a feature request in GetSatisfaction to bring back the old Document format as a new format for publishing. If you agree you can support it here (getsatisfaction.com/google/topics/…)

comment How can I refer to two different columns in a COUNTIF function?
I was attempting to explain the general use of OR logic. If the tests were not exclusive (contained in the same column) then the SIGN function would be necessary. In this case it isn't. And, yes your example would be the better approach but doesn't demonstrate the use of OR. I was trying to think of a simplistic approach to demonstrate the use of OR that fit in with the OP's question but I'm obviously not very good at coming up with examples off the cuff. If you have some better examples, I encourage you to edit/improve the answer.

You can now use Google Docs Fusion tables as a database or you can query a Google Docs spreadsheet using the Google Visualization API.

-1 Google Docs does pivot tables too

comment Is there any way to script a Google Docs spreadsheet?
+1 Google Apps Script is great. I've been utilizing it a lot lately to automate work. It not only can do the same type of stuff that VBS can, but you can pull data from the web (or other gdocs) directly, schedule time-based event triggers to run on their own (hourly, daily, etc), and build UIs (including extending the toolbar with custom commands). It's pretty amazing.

-1 This is no longer true. Google Spreadsheets fully supports pivot tables now by default.
