I'd like to send e-mail from account 1--a personal @gmail.com address--using an alias from account 2--a domain managed through Google Administrator for gmail that I have Google Administrator privileges for.

The message I get in account 1 when creating the alias is

using an alias from a personal @gmail.com address of an e-mail account from a domain that uses Google/Google Administrator to handle e-mail.

When I go to add the alias in account 1 via the "Send Mail as" setting in gmail, I get the error message "Authentication failed. Please check your username/password and Less Secure Apps access for [account 2]."

Where is the setting in Google Administrator that allows for sending mail from an outside-the domain address? (Here is the info for mail delegation with the domain, and the less secure app access google support help appears out of date.)
