I'm trying to find out if it is possible to use Zapier to populate a Google Sheet with the IDs of Twitter users who retweet me.

I've tried using the advanced search parameters from:username filter:retweets, however, Twitter's recent updates no longer treat retweets with the legacy RT but as unique tweets with their own ID so the advanced search yields only old retweets.

I saw that Twitter API has this: GET statuses/retweeters/ids, that means that theoretically, there could be a broken down process where:

  1. GET statuses/user_timeline and store all tweet IDs in Google Sheet
  2. GET statuses/retweeters/ids for each tweet ID in the sheet

I just don't know if Zapier is robust enough to handle such a task or not?

Would appreciate your opinion on it...

  • Not sure about zapier but I know this can be done in two steps with python 1) use tweepy and twitter api to get your list of people who RT you use Google api to write this to your sheet – Datanovice Sep 26 '18 at 16:23
