I'm planning to migrate my company GSuite email account to Office 365. The Office 365 will have the same domain.

My Office 365 subscription is the Business Premium, so we will have shared mailbox for our users. There is one GSuite email account that we want to make it as a shared mailbox when we migrate to Office 365.

Here's the illustration:

  • Source email account: GSuite, support@contoso.com (individual/user email, not group or shared mailbox)
  • Migration target: O365 Business, also will be support@contoso.com (shared mailbox, not individual email account)

I can find the guidance for GSuite email migration to a newly created Office 365 email account, but I cannot find a guide if the migration goes to a new Office 365 Shared Mailbox.

Would it be the same way? Or is there any different steps that I need to take?
