I'm new to Javscript and have obviusly gone in over my head.

I'm making a sheet to perform testing on simple trading algorithms. In short I'm working with three different sheets. In the first sheet(TICKERS) I have a list of all the tickers listed on the S&P500. In the second sheet(TESTS) I have a list with three columns and 120 rows with different % combinations. The third list (Performance) is a cell for entering the TICKER and three cells for entering the different % combinations.

So, I want to have a macro that takes a ticker from the TICKER sheet. Then inserts three numbers row by row until it has completed the 120 tests on the ticker while outputting the results (4cells) into the TICKER-sheet.

What I hope to end up with is a TICKER-sheet with an additional 4x120 columns that can be used to analyze the most efficient algorithm.

I'd be happy to share the sheet if anyone would like to give it a go!

  • Hi Rubén, I have spent hours searching for a proper approach to this problem that I believed to be simple. However I haven't found much relevant out there. Now I'm sure this approach is used by many, since it can applied to so many areas, and am now thinking that the failure of finding answers probably has more to do with lack of proper vocabulary in my searches... – Peter George Dec 18 '18 at 19:34

  • Thank you for all your help. I have off course reached roads end, otherwise I wouldn't post the question. I don't want to add my code since i'm quite certain that I have started out wrong and was curious to see how a well seasoned user would approach this problem. So if anyone else is willing to help out. Feel free! – Peter George Dec 18 '18 at 19:58
