I am a bit of a novice as this will probably be the most complicated thing I have set up so please assume I know nothing.

I have an app (App Usage https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.uninstaller) that automatically exports a new CSV file to my GDrive every day. Cell D2 of each file contains how much I have accessed my phone in that day and I want to import all the D2 values of each sheet into one Google Sheet.

The files are always created in the a predictably named file (drive/documents/DriveSyncFiles/daily/2018-12-24, for example) and the names of the files are also easily predictable (Usage-2018_12_24, for example). I have been trying to use the 'ImportRange' function in Google Sheets however this requires me copying and pasting every CSV's unpredictable URL.

Is there a way I can get Google Sheets to automatically import a new CSV piece of data every time it is uploaded to GDrive?

P.S.: I am wanting to do this with other apps, not just AppUsage, so if you know any way I can do this that isn't super specific then please do let me know.

  • Instead or IMPORTRANGE use IMPORTDATA – Rubén Jan 2 at 18:36
  • In order to import a new CSV every time it's uploaded you should use a script/API. – Rubén Jan 2 at 18:42
  • Nice, thank you. Do you have any suggestions for things I should look at? – Yitsach Jan 3 at 10:18
