How to delete all archived emails? I have many of them in the "All mail folder" but they are mixed with other e-mails.

  • The “All Mail” folder contains everything that you ever received, regardless of the ulterior labelling of individual emails, so when you remove something from “All Mail”, it gets moved to trash and you don’t find it under its label/folder. – Alex Apr 3 at 13:35
  • Some type of search NOT IN:INBOX might help – DavChana Apr 3 at 13:36
  • I have many folders. "NOT IN:INBOX" shows many other e-mails, which I need to keep. – Alecksey Anuchin Apr 4 at 14:04

In Gmail, there is no "archive" label.

All emails you sent to "Archive" - Actually removes any other label from it and can be found only later in the "All Mail" label.

.

But I found a way to find only the messages sent to the "archive".

Write in the search bar:

has:nouserlabels -in:Sent -in:Chat -in:Draft -in:Inbox

In the search results you will see all the messages which are not under any label, which is actually all the messages you have ever sent to "Archive".

You can now delete all search results...

  • The archive button only removes the inbox label. It keeps all the other labels. – mhoran_psprep Jul 1 at 12:16

Search In:archived then select all: http://prntscr.com/n6y2n1

  • Hi Roch, could you upload your screenshot to Imgur please (using the tools in the edit box)? – jonsca Apr 3 at 22:26
  • @jonsca thanks for the heads up. I wasn't aware that it isn't allowed and was just trying to help. But I got a -1 here so I see no point in doing that. Thanks! – Roch Apr 4 at 12:50
