I keep getting emails with the following:

Error Message /Trigger
respondToFormSubmit No HTML file named CreatorNotification was found. (line 241, file "Code") /formSubmit

I don't know what scripts or triggers are, but I'm good at following directions. Please speak to me like I'm a kindergartener.

I'd like to stop the emails, but my main concern is to correct the problem.

  • The email about the error should incluye a link to the "file"that is causing that error. Read the email carefully. – Rubén Jul 11 at 20:38
  • Yes, it does. And when I click on the link "to configure the triggers for this script, or change your setting for receiving future failure notifications" I am taken to a page of "My Triggers." What do I do now? – Angela Angelovic Jul 11 at 23:27
  • How many triggers are listed? If there is only one, delete it, if there are more than two or more the email should include enough information to identify which of the triggers should be deleted. If require more specific guidance are the email textually and a screenshot of your "My Triggers" screen. – Rubén Jul 11 at 23:30
  • Thank you. There was only one, so I deleted it. Is there a way to find out what caused an error so it doesn't happen again? – Angela Angelovic Jul 12 at 15:05
  • If you hasn't implemented a way to keep the version history of your projects the only way is that you recall what you did regarding using the Google Apps Script editor, intalling and using G Suite Editors add-ons or apps with permissions to access your scripts. Maybe the first error email could help. – Rubén Jul 12 at 15:16
