Good morning Stack Exchange,

My Gmail account is nearly full, primarily because my parents regularly send emails with 20 megapixel (10-20 megabyte) digital photos attached.

An old version of Microsoft Outlook had a feature to resize attached images inside the inbox.

I am using Linux, and would be OK with a solution that uses Gmail add-ins, Thunderbird features or add-ins, or other IMAP or POP3 tricks.

The closest Stack Exchange question I've found is about deleting large attachments - Can one delete a Gmail attachment but keep the email?

Is there a way to re-size gmail attachments inside the inbox?

Thank you

I am afraid not. The answer you already found is probably the closest that will come as a solution to your question. – marikamitsos Jan 10 at 16:43
