I recently created 5 Gmail email addresses. I didn’t know that the 1st email address would become what Google calls “the primary” email address associated with my Google account. I want to change “the primary” email address to one of the other Gmail email addresses. I googled how to do this. The step by step guides provided don’t seem to help me. How do I do this?

A Gmail email address will always be the primary email address of a Google account having Gmail, also an email address that is the primary email address of a Google account can't be the used as the primary or alternative email address of a different account, also while is possible to remove a Gmail address from a Google account that email address will not be possible to be used again.

Considering the above, what you are trying to do is not possible.
