On Pinterest and other social media sites, they offer cost per click and cost per view.
Cost-per-view bundling into 1000's makes sense... your ad is viewed 1000 times, and you pay, say $7.50. Simple.
Cost per click, however, leaves me with questions. Let's say we get a campaign running with $1.5 per click... but are we also paying for the view of the advert?
Or is it that the social engines are "automagically" selecting people that are most likely to click on an ad and show my ad to them?
The question is... let's say my ad is shown to 5000 people, but only 1 person clicks... this also surely means that I am only paying for the click but not paying for the 5000 impressions.
Or am I missing something here...?
