How to create non-expiring direct links to video files on Google Drive that will download the file instead of opening them in the browse ?
To do this you will have to change the URL you give to your users.
For example, the link Google gives you is something like:
You need to change the URL into the form:
Basically what I did is:
- Added at the end of the URL a
- I made sure the
idpart (in my example
ABC123but in real life it will be something like
WFlEUEVTBRxVNGupYnRhVUk0B5UP) stays the same!
Now when users click this link, the file will start to download. (You should encourage your users to use download managers, for speed.)
