I'd really like to have a different colour with every new line of text. I spend time selecting each line and changing the colour that way. Is there a macro that would do that automatically for me?

How should the colors be selected? – user79865 Aug 11 '15 at 2:32

Macros is not supported by Google docs. The best thing Google have done with a similar tool is Appscript that allows you to add custom menus, dialogs and side bars across all Google desk apps (docs, sheets, forms). FYI: not related to question Quickstart: Macros, Menus, and Custom Functions

If macros are not supported why do you add a link to a webpage that has "macros" in its title? :) – Rubén Aug 11 '15 at 12:39
  • :) The above link could be used as the reference/source of the first statement in the answer, but this link and the on in the answer are too abroad regarding the question. You could improve your answer by adding more specific details like how to apply a specific color to a Google document "line" by using Google Apps Script, even better if you add the script to apply different colors to each "line". – Rubén Aug 12 '15 at 12:23
