This would really be a great improvement for Keep. – JTW Feb 21 '16 at 22:50

@woogy I'm happy to support any feature request. Any idea how we could show the demand for this feature by the community to Google? – orschiro Feb 22 '16 at 16:51
  • This extension should make it into the Chrome Webstore! github.com/sasindumendis/remarkable-googlekeep/issues/1 – orschiro Jun 15 '16 at 6:14
  • Use the Send feedback feature from the sidebar in Keep to send ideas for new features. – JP de la Torre Jul 28 '16 at 22:44

I'm also a big fan of Google Keep and Markdown. Therefore, I released today a new extension for Chrome which adds markdown support to Keep. You're welcome to give it a try:

Mark It Down: Add markdown support to popular online services, like Google Keep.

Any chance your source code is available? I'd like to adapt it to be a Firefox extension if possible. – Taylor Edmiston Nov 15 '18 at 18:26
  • @TaylorEdmiston you can use Chrome Store Foxified – Ooker Jan 14 '19 at 3:06
  • It looks like it is discontinued but I will give it a shot. Thank you! – Taylor Edmiston Jan 14 '19 at 18:39
  • Works good for laptop. Can't wait to see it cross over onto my smart phone....some day. – klewis Jan 25 '19 at 22:36
  • Do you have a Github for this extension or.....? Seems like the reviews for it have a bug that needs reporting. – ChaBuku Bakke Feb 15 '19 at 18:43

Unfortunately, no. There does not appear to be any formatting options available, other than things like lists and note color.

It is now possible to do this using the Chrome extension Google Keep PowerUp. You just need to label a note as 'markdown' or a custom label which can be specified in the settings.

  • @Rubén I am not affiliated to that software. I just found it after some google searches. – rashid Feb 8 '20 at 4:21
