I happened to need this feature to "reference" an old email with my colleagues. And I managed to do this with "rfc822msgid:" search operator. Copy the Message-ID from the header of the message you want to reference, then search for it. For example, the Message-ID is abcdefg@example.com and you can search for rfc822msgid:abcdefg@example.com in the Gmail ...

There is no way to get a link or to share an email or thread with another person using just Gmail. Gmail gives you a unique URL in the address bar for each message thread but that URL is only accessible after you have logged in to your account, so another user would not be able to access the link. Gmail Labs has a Create a Document feature but the document ...

A basic search on Google is /search?q=<query> https://google.com/search?q=space to make it an image search, simply add &tbm=isch https://google.com/search?q=space&tbm=isch to add additional criteria to your search, use the advanced search tool, and only add the value of &tbs=<criteria> from the results. for example, a >= 4 ...

The problem seems to be the part after the #, but it works if you use the Google Advanced Image Search directly. The full URL that you will get for the search above: https://www.google.com/search?as_st=y&tbm=isch&hl=en&as_q=berlin&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&cr=&as_sitesearch=&safe=images&tbs=isz:lt,islt:4mp,sur:fmc&...

This is possible for google sheets without an applet like in the other answer. You can only set up notifications for yourself. You won’t get notifications when you make changes on your spreadsheet, but you’ll get notifications when others make changes. On your computer, open a spreadsheet in Google Sheets. At the top, click Tools > Notification rules. In ...

You can use nFiles. Simply forward your email to i@nfil.es. This will turn your email into a web page similar to this: https://nfil.es/w/hI6JK9/ Then you can share the URL of your email messages to your friends via email, IM or social media. Details: https://nfil.es

If you need a new link created, you can right-click on the file and Make a copy of it. When you then go to Share it you'll get a new link.

It is not possible to have a "folder of links" in Drive. What you can do is create a document and put the links in there. This document can be easily shared with others. But, as @Krampus mentions, there are plenty of bookmark-sharing services available. Google even has its own one: Google Bookmarks. Another one I used before is Delicious. Wikipedia has a ...

Google Drive does not offer the option to search for other users' public documents (see here). However, it is possible for users to find these documents via Google Search using a filter. In order to search exclusively for public Google documents, a user would have to search using the following: site:docs.google.com/document/d [keyword] To create a tool ...

The original accepted answer is out of date. The current steps are: Navigate to https://www.youtube.com/ Click your account icon at the top right, and select "Creator Studio" from the menu. In the videos panel click the "Edit" button next to the video you with to share. On the "Basic Info" tab, ensure, the privacy is set to "Private". Otherwise, the option ...

I created a public folder. When I attempt to create a new document in that folder, Google Drive tells me: Do you want to create the element in a shared folder? The created element will have the same sharing settings as the selected folder. This suggests that I can't have a private document in a shared folder. But what if I created the document first, ...

While this question already has an accepted answer, I just found an alternative that for me, more closely satisfies the OP's question: While you can't share URLs as @OrangeBox points out, you can share search queries. Using Gmail's Search Operators, I've found that it's usually pretty easy to return a single result from even a large body of emails. So the ...

Update 2013-Oct-4: Looks like this doesn't work anymore. Now Google Docs Presentation seems to retrieve image-by-URL once upon inserting, and therefore no website tracking tools work anymore. Update 2014-Jan-11: Seems to be working for Sheets but not Docs Any web site analytics tool can help. For example, www.statcounter.com (it's free): Go to statcounter....

Even if you have Edit permission, sometimes the File -> "See revision history" menu option is grey-out. I've seen this happen after the page has been loaded in a tab for a long time. In this situation, reloading the Chrome tab for the Sheet has restored the Revision History menu option.

Whoever tagged you in the photo has their privacy set to only be visable to those who are tagged, NOT the tagged person's friends. It's a "custom" visability setting. They'd have to go in and change it to where the checkbox in the privacy setting area next to "friends of those who are tagged" is checked, not unchecked.

This feature is missing for a reason. Not necessarily a good reason, but certainly a reason. The idea is that the people who were permitted initially may be responding the way they are with the understanding that the share was limited, and opening it up to more changes that expectation. This is particularly true if they've already replied to the message. ...

Unfortunately you can't share your entire Google Drive like you can share a folder. Google doesn't treat Drive that way. Think of your Google Drive storage as a post office. You can give anyone you want access to as many of the individual "boxes" inside the post office lobby as necessary, but you can't give anyone access to the entire building. The ...

Update I guess Facebook heard you because just 1 month after you posted it, it now happens by itself when you click "share" (unless you uncheck the option). You share the secondary post on a ...

No it is not possible. Google does not have the tools for and refer to 3rd party scripts. They confirmed to me that they do not offer this much needed admin functionality to better manage permissions. In our case our Google Drive has become unmanageable now.

Here's an answer, though you might not like it: http://support.google.com/drive/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2494892 Once you transfer ownership of a file, you lose ownership for yourself. You effectively change the doc from something you own to something that was "shared with you." There is no way to downgrade a user back to editor unless you contact ...
