Jun 18, 2012 at 3:20 comment added user541686 @mhoran_psprep: Like I said, I'm using a ton of labels, and they're working just fine. I'm just asking for a way to filter the messages based on the labels.
Jun 18, 2012 at 1:45 comment added mhoran_psprep Gmail has three main features that make it different from other free email systems: labels, archiving, and conversations. The way you are using gmail you disable 2 of its strengths.
Jun 18, 2012 at 1:23 comment added user541686 @mhoran_psprep: I don't like archiving messages. Among the reasons being that (1) I hate messages with no label, and (2) they get annoying when you use mail clients, (3) I want messages that were sent to me to stay in my inbox, plain and simple.
Jun 18, 2012 at 1:13 comment added mhoran_psprep The basic question is why? If you have one or more labels on a message, and you no longer need to see it when you log in, then archive the message.
