I stepped into the path of full-time entrepreneur late in life (in my late thirties) by launching the 50 Interviews book series/publishing company. In 2009, I began offering services on a work-for-hire basis to other authors/publishers, which quickly became my primary business (You can find out more about our author/publisher services at SelfPublish.org). As of 2016, I still own and manage dozens of websites and assist authors, but my primary focus is on AuthorDock and PubWriter. I probably enjoy most speaking and teaching workshops on publishing, entrepreneurship, mindfulness, and even the ukulele. Since I published my first book in 2008, the title of ‘Authorpreneur’ pretty wells describes my many hats as CEO, author, speaker, trainer, webmaster, marketing manager, publisher, and consultant. As a publishing technologist, I served as president of the Colorado Independent Publishers Association and currently teach publishing at my Alma mater (Cal Poly). Since 2009, I am proud to have helped over 400 authors publish.
