Google Photos is a service for managing all of your photos, introduced May 29,2015. This tag is for questions about the web version of the app.

Google Photos was introduced at Google I/O on May 29, 2015. It replaces Google+ Photos (and, by extension, Picasaweb). In addition to the web application, there are apps for Android and iOS as well. (Please note that questions about the Android or iOS versions of Google Photos will be off-topic here.)

Among its features:

  • Unlimited storage for images of 16 megapixels or smaller, and videos with a resolution of 1080p or smaller
  • Facial recognition to group photos by person
  • Albums and automatically created albums known as "Collections"
  • Machine learning to classify photos by their content.
